2009
06/13- Pulsate PhxPresented by Warsaw Pact Entertainment, Pulsate featured Swedish Psytrance producer Vibrasphere in his only 2009 west coast appearance. Although, he had such a great time we might be able to get him back out here for a sweeeeeeeet desert party (there really IS no other kind!). Also headlined by Wes Straub out of Calgary, and THAT was a sweet Psytrance set. Opening my stage were 2 of our local favorites, Nick Synergy (Overmind Works), and Spyder (Warsaw Pact Entertainment). I was joined by VJ Spudmagic and VJ Sam. Here's a banner that I made for online promotions:
06/06- Infected Mushroom Phx
Held at Arizona's premiere event space, Infected Mushroom headlined this event with an amazing live set. Also on my stage were local favorites Brook B, Chris Forsyth, Turner & Heit, Sean Essex and Richard Anthony. I made tons of brand new mushroom video just for Infected. Rainbow particle animations, morphing mushrooms, morphing brains into mushrooms, mushroom warping, etc.

Another beautiful night under the stars at Cowtown! 3 awesome stages, Chris Lit with the amazing lights on the Mainstage, and MindBlowing Visuals on the other 2 stages, VJ Vostek and VJ Spudmagic on the mixed genre stage and myself, accompanied by VJ Sunshine and VJ Fraggle!
05/22- Glow Phx
MindBlowing Visuals VJed for Baby Anne, Locals like Citrik, Spyder, and others. Made a whole bunch of new "glowy" type animations just for this.
05/09- Charity Phx
This was a charity for breast cancer. VJed for DJ Orbit (Cali., OrbitRadio.FM); Michael Calderone and Austin, Live PA from NYC (Armada Music); and Rize (Phx, Best of Times). Party ended early before Clybourne(Armani Exchange) and Substation(Live PA from Phx), unfortunately. Joined by VJ Spudmagic, MBV.
04/18- Revelation Phx
One-stage happy hardcore event, all headliners. Crackerjack, Jimni Cricket, Brisk & Ham, Dougal & Gammer, Milo, Dj Kitsch. I think I really fell in love with VJing to Happy Hardcore. I can't dance to it for more than 10 minutes, but the energy of the people on the dance floor is just contagious!
04/11- Easter Moon W/ Rabbit in the Moon
This was my debut as a laser tech! I actually got to run the laser controls for a while! Rabbit in the Moon was a spectacle to behold.

A Bubble-Bobble, bubble themed foam party! It was so incredibly packed and foamy and wet, that I really have no idea who I was VJing for. According to the timeslots, I VJed for Mike Saga, 2 Phat Pat, Dj Cik, Mindbender, Venom, Jon Gil, and Poss. We made all kinds of new vid with the cute little dino characters from the old "Bubble Bobble" video game.

Phoenix Light Lab brought me in to do visuals for Amare Stoudemire's NBA Hip-Hop party held atop the Chase Tower in downtown Phoenix. I can do video for any type of music, I don't even need to like the music for the video to be HOTTT!!!
02/07- Infectious Audio Phx
Made tons of custom "infected" looking video for this event. The event called for a dark feeling, which was nice for a change.
01/17- Rainbow Brite and The Kandi Kids Phx
Razzles vs. Mando, DJ Doughboy, Daily vs. Skeltaboy, DJ Squiggles, DJ Matt Dunn. Vostek and I really went to town with the Rainbow Brite/Rainbow theme. This is when I decided that Rainbow is a color in and of itself, and that it is one of my new favorite colors. (the others being black, silver, and clear.)

A yearly celebration honoring the "Festival of Lights", Diwali, a newmoon holiday. Vostek and I created a bunch of Hindu/Indian/Chakra/Spiritual kind of vids just for this event. We had the honor of doing some video out by the side of the pond, while Chris Sia (A.P.T.- SF), Cheb i Sabbah (Six Degrees Records- SF), Phil D (JellyBean Soul-NYC) and Marques Wyatt(Deep-LA/Om Records) spun on the decks. Local pyrotechnics troupe Flam Chen did a beautiful performance on the other side of the pond, and fire art sculptures burned all night long.

A Beautiful night under the stars out at Terresante. Fire, drum circle, dancing, electronic and acoustic music.

Club Cactus in the desert! This still is one of my favorite nights in Tucson. Out at Reddington Pass, under the stars. It was Cactus's idea to set the stage up so that the 20x20 cement pad was the dancefloor and not the DJ booth, as was the usual set-up at that location. I'm always down for something new, so we did it. The back wall was nothing but video, and there were no lights. The screen cast this surreal glow onto the dance floor. Cactus rocked it out on the decks, as did Azazel with some sweeeeeet Techno. Hades 2, brothers Jeff and Jessmar Romea rocked so incredibly, first time I'd ever hear/seen them. Kurt (Tigger) and Azazel both tried their hands at the visuals, I love watching what the newbs do on my gear. I ALWAYS learn something new....

I was thrilled to be chosen to do the video for Tiesto when he came through Arizona. At the time he was the #1 DJ in the world, according to The DJ List. Opening for him was local DJ Solomon, followed by Turner & Heit. I brought Vostek to join in the fun!

BDSM swinger porno sex party. Vibe Netwerk providing some excellent beats, while I spun porn to the beat down by the poolside. The best part? I didn't even have to look at the actual porn clips to be able to vj them! buuuaahhhwwwhaaahaaa!

*The first Mayday, so epic in so many ways. This was the night that I really met Cliff (Vostek). I invited him in to plug in with me, and it was on from there. It was also the last night that I worked with aaaposse, due to kevin being so difficult. I went to work for myself, and I brought Cliff with me. At the time of me writing this, it's been just over a year, and we've been working together ever since this night. MindBlowing Visuals was born on this night....

Helping out AAA Posse with green screen running outside being pumped into the mainroom and mixed with the visuals. I was also projecting on to the wall so the kids could see themselves. Way fun!

03/11 thru 03/23- Zoomation! at Phx Zoo. Greenscreen with the Kids!
Phoenix Light Lab brought me in for this celebration of spring at the Phoenix Zoo. A nighttime Zoo event, like ZooLights in the winter, Zoomation was created to be "hands-on". For 2 weeks in the spring, from 6:30pm until 10pm there were various types of interactive activities in action throughout the Zoo. There was painting, copper inscripting, face painting, sidewalk chalk, etc. I was running a greenscreen area, it was basically a 10x20 tent, with 2 greenscreens set up on the opposite ends, with the centre occupied by my video control area, 2 cameras, 2 tvs for output so that each side could see them selves on TV. I was running each sides' camera output (with the people on greenscreen) in through it's own video mixer, with the green chroma'ed out, and each side got a "springtime" background, changed as I saw fit or was requested. Each side saw itself on it's own tv screen with whichever background that side was getting at that time. Then I had the choice of which side to display on a huge 12x18 (? i think...) screen that was outside the tent. It was very interesting, VJing to the tides and whims of the flow of human movement and desire, instead of to Music. The parents who wanted a picture of baby on the big screen, the kids who politely spent 2 hours there completely entertained while the parents gave up on enticing the kids to any other attraction. The perhaps half of one percent of the kids who came in, looked around, said "screw the greenscreen, I wanna see what SHE'S doing!". My friend's 6 year old, Ebban, who came in, wanted to play with MY toys. I explained to him the workings of the console (I have a bad habit of speaking to children like they're totally capable of understanding an adult level of language.), and literally 5 minutes later he was explaining it, PERFECTLY, to his sister. And I thought the greenscreen was going to be boring!

*This was the event that Leo joined us for Earthdance. Kevin was solo on his stage, and Leo brought his V4 and plugged us both in.... It changed how I approach VJing. Because, like I thought VJing was fun? VJing with a partner or a team increases the "fun factor" by an exponential degree. Fun squared, fun cubed, 1+1=infinity. I don't even remember who the DJs were, it was just so in the flow. Thanks Leo!
09/01- Club Party Monster Phx
*A "Party Monster" themed rave. at the Icehouse. I chopped up both the documentary and the movie. The person who wrote the book that the movie was based on, and the person who made the documentary were both supposedly there that night. I was wondering how they were both going to react to me basically stealing and rearranging their works. I was prepared for anything from "imma gonna sue yer raver ass" to "damn! that is sweet!". I got nothing. They may as well have not been there. Maybe they weren't! Whatever. It was hard to chop up a movie and a documentary about a murder, with out showing any murder scenes. I had to focus on the drug scenes. Better to see Mccauley Caulkin smoking crack than committing murder! (right?)

*This was the first rave that AAA Posse did with Rukus and Harmonic lights. Kevin (moabyte) and I were like "you can't have a 'radical audio VISUAL experience' without visuals!" and they gave us a shot. They had always wanted to have a VJ to work with, but they had had some bad experiences with some of the local VJs, like them not showing up. We always showed up early. I still do, not sure if Kevin is keeping up with that.... Also, in almost a year of raving in Phoenix, it was the first time someone invited us home with them. Even though we didn't go, it still meant a lot. Thanks Matt and Harmony! I had to give Kevin a little talk on the ride home. "We're not just here to work. This is our life, these are the people sharing our lives. We want to be friends with them, and we have to make the effort since we're the ones who live 100 miles away. When people invite us over, GO! When some kids invite us to some random after party, GO! When you hear about a day party in the park, GO! Go be yourself, these people are the reason we're doing any of this."
